Photosensitivity & Epilepsy Notice

The Van Gogh Dublin shows use state-of-the-art 3D Immersive technology. This includes both flashing and moving imagery shown across four walls and on the floor. This is an all encompassing Immersive experience and may not be suitable for all. The Event can also be loud at certain points in the shows.

As such this Event is unsuitable for those who may suffer from Epilepsy and/or Photosensitive Epilepsy.

This may also cause discomfort for those with general Photosensitivity, certain Processing Disorders, Claustrophobia, Vertigo and including those who may find fast moving or 3D viewing distressing.

You do not have to have any pre-existing or current condition to find Immersive viewing uncomfortable.

  • Van Gogh Dublin will be hosted in Hall2, Shelbourne Hall at the Royal Dublin Society (RDS) in Ballsbridge.

  • Van Gogh Dublin is open 7 days a week.

    Monday to Wednesday, 10:00 – 19:00 / Thursday to Sunday, 10:00 - 22:00

  • The exhibition takes place over 30-45 mins, set in one of Ireland’s most iconic venues, the RDS Dublin.

    3min : Tickets and Entrance tunnel

    18min : Nohlab’s Van Gogh exhibition is like no other. Visitors will see VG’s paintings through a new lens. Classic paintings are transformed using different facades and technological approaches. The show ends with an AI interpretation.

    1m interval

    4min Journey : We get to experience the journey of a light particle, from the moment it comes into existence until it turns into interpretable solid forms for us, right through the eyes of the particle.

    30 sec interval

    12m Everything : A unique immersive experience which observes everything as it is, questions all this existence and suggests new possibilities.

    5-15min Infinty room experience

  • We can arrange press admission badges. Please email us at hi@theatreoflight.ie with your details.

  • Parking is available at the RDS at a rate of €7.00 per day, subject to availability.

  • We have a range of corporate options available for the exhibition run, from buying out a session, to buying a ticket bundle, to renting out the space for your own corporate evening. Please email hi@theatreoflight.ie for more information.

  • Hall 2 in the RDS is at ground level and easily accessible for any visitors with reduced mobility.

  • There will be a very limited number of tickets available to purchase on site. It is strongly recommended that you purchase your tickets online, for your preferred time slot, to ensure access.

  • We recommend you arrive 5 minutes before your ticketed time to ensure show access. Your ticket is for the time slot advertised. We cannot accommodate early access or latecomers.

  • Ticket purchases are not subject to the legal right of withdrawal.

    Once issued, tickets cannot be exchanged, modified, or refunded, except in the event that the show is cancelled.

  • Van Gogh Dublin is an inclusive event that everyone is welcome at. As part of the show, there are flashing lights and moving artwork/videos which may be uncomfortable for some people with sensory processing needs, and as such, we would advise parents, carers and/or individuals to consider this before purchasing tickets.
